Always a comforting voice, Was definitely the best teacher!! So glad to have seen you on the buses Mr Alexander ❤
Jordan, I'm proud that you have positive memories of those schooldays.
I listened to many versions of this song today and yours is pretty unique and interesting. Good job. 👍
That's pleasing to know.
Well done, nice vocal harmonies and arrangement
Thank you for that Karl. I particularly enjoyed the part where the two different melodies and lyrics are sung against each other.
Wow! I've never heard this one by Brenda Lee. Great song and an excellent cover Geoff! Great guitar playing!
One of only 2 songs by Brenda Lee made the UK top 10, the other being Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree'
I'm letting you know, because I've valued your comments, that I'm taking a break from music making. Having produced 643 music videos, it's been pointed out to me, that because of the way RUclips organises what potential viewers see when they visit a channel, such as mine, it takes quite a bit of effort, time and dedication to locate older/oldest uploads where there may be, like mine, be several hundred videos. For that reason, as currently I've no plans to do more, I've decided to put some of my oldest music videos on my other, currently empty, RUclips channel. If people wish to subscribe to that channel, they'll see what I produced many years ago. I've posted one video on the other channel and will probably add more on subsequent Sundays. whats the notes for the bass thanks
Sorry Paul, I cant do dots or tabs. I just play what sounds right to me.
Very well put together and nicely played and sung.
Thanks. So many great 60s songs.
Dig it! Thanks.

That is so heartning to hear Gaz. My best to both to you and your wife.
Thank you so much for your interpretation. This is one of my All time favorite classic movie songs. I actually enjoy the Louis Armstrong version with good night/sleep tight
I saw the film 'The Five Pennies' as a child and have a copy on my hard drive. There are so many good songs in it and I, too, love the full version with Satchmo, Danny Kay and Barbara Bel Geddes, all singing together. Thanks for responding.
Bravo! Nice job. Best, Fingers.
Thanks Fingers.I see we have several songs and songwriters for whom we share a mutual liking. Even after 640 covers I still find more I want to sing.

Ich freue mich sehr, eine solche körperliche Reaktion hervorzurufen. Freut mich, dass es Ihnen gefallen hat.
What beautiful songs you make me feel, know and appreciate Geoff!!! I really like this one and what a great job with the use of voices!!! Excellent
This is a song that very few people will know, even here in the UK where it was a No6 in the charts as the group made little impact. So thank you once again Carlo.
When I like songs that I don't know, I get curious and I immediately went to listen to the original and read up a little...true...it's a shame they had little success...they certainly deserved it...listening to other songs of the pop genre by those early 70's years

@@alexandergeoff Do you know what I discovered?? that many RUclipsrs, precisely for the reason he said, publish old short videos in a "burst". Personally, I don't like this way of doing things, but you know... as our old proverb says: "The world is beautiful because it is varied"!!!
Excellent. A lot of work went into this recording.
I've, in total, covered 9 Hollies songs and because of the wide vocal range of group members, they can be challenging, so thanks you.
Oh my, another gem! Dig it. One of my favorite songs of the era. Thanks. Super arrangement.
Glad you enjoyed it
That was great Geoff! Another one of my favorite songs from the 1960's!
I'd always thought the Easybeats were English, but I was wrong.
Geoff... you do Buddy proud! I turn 50 in a couple of weeks and I still remember my mother coming up to my bedroom at 1 in the morning (UK time naturally 🤣) asking me to stop singing as others in the house were trying to sleep! Naturally, I was listening on my headphones to Buddy Holly and of course... singing along! You do him proud Geoff!
Headphones lock out the world and let us be completely absorbed in the music, unaware of the effect we may be having on others. Singing along is one of life's pleasure that cost nothing :)
@@alexandergeoff May one put across some requests for future tracks, from time to time?
To date I've covered over 650 songs. My selection process is that the song must have opportunities for harmonies and is fitting with my playing abilities. Additionally because I play by ear, they must be within my capabilities of discerning the chords and they must be songs that I like and would enjoy playing. As it happens the song I put out this morning was a song that came about as a request so I'd be happy to receive a request but please don't be offended if it's not one I choose to record.
In my opinion, one of Brenda Lee's better songs... pure Rock 'N Roll! You more than do it justice my friend... awesome cover! Your musicianship is excellent. A Californian surfing twang in their somewhere I feel? Just brilliant!
David, there are some songs that just make me feel good when I play/sing them and this is one.So am grateful for the comment.
@@alexandergeoff Am I right in my curiosity though... a little Californian surf twang in your guitar playing?
Firstly at no time do I consider myself to be a lead guitar player of any proficiency, my focus being on the vocals harmonies and rhythm guitar. In truth what comes out is just what comes out at the time, and no doubt I will have been influenced by many decades of listening to music but I don't set out to emulate any particular style for a certain song. However since receiving your comment I've just gone back and listened to the track for the first time since I put it out four years ago and I've got to say in retrospect I'm pleased with the solo break.
Fantastic old song choice Geoff....awesome job and great performance , I love your guitar music.... congratulations !!! bravo!!!!
You can't keep a good song down Carlo-thank you.
Of course...you're absolutely right!!!
Geoff, unbelievable. One of my absolute favourite pop songs ever. Well played and sung.

Another great choice. Many artists have covered this one because it is a great song. Thanks for sharing. I also like the version by Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes.
I'm not familiar with that version but I'll make a point of giving it a listen thank you
I've just watched Johnny and the... , a good rendition.
Sounds awesome Geoff! Thank you for doing this song! It's such a wonderful song!
Thanks for the suggestion
Thanks Geoff. I do have the chords for the verse and chorus. I can see your fingering on the intro. So I can probably figure it out. I will be trying to mimic it on an Irish Bouzouki which is tuned GDAD so like DAD on most dulcimers. Thanks again Rob
You are welcome.
Just checking in! 😊
Keep doing so and hope you find something you enjoy.
Pretty clever Geoff.Well done Sir! You have nailed the intro played on the dulcimer. I don’t suppose you could put up a tab to the chords you used for us lesser mortals to follow? It sounds very modal. Thanks
I don't do tabs, generally playing by ear. In response to your request, I've looked back at the video and believe that, as a fellow guitar player, if you watch it, it should be easy to discern the chords to the introduction and also the verse, The chorus is less easy to see so here are the chorus chords, G F#m G Bm A F#m D G G F#m G Bm A F#m D G Hope that helps.
